In the 1920s, carbon black was successfully trial-produced, creating a new era of rubber reinforcement. The use of carbon black for rubber reinforcement greatly improves the mechanical properties of rubber, but its biggest disadvantage is its color (black), which cannot be used to prepare light-colored or colored rubber products. In the forties, Germany D. GuSSa company has successfully developed a process for preparing fumed silica (white carbon black) by hydrolyzing silicon tetrachloride at high temperature in an oxygen-hydrogen flame. The appearance of fumed silica endows rubber (especially silicone rubber) with excellent tensile strength and tear strength, breaking the monopoly of black rubber.
At present, the core technology and market for the preparation of fumed silica are mainly controlled by several major companies in Germany, the United States and Japan, and there is also a small amount of production in Ukraine and my country. my country's fumed silica industry started relatively late. At present, the main enterprises producing fumed silica include Shenyang Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Jibishi Technology Industry Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Co., Ltd., of which only Guangzhou Jibishi Technology Co., Ltd. industrial co., ltd.
