What are the environmental protection inks?

The rapid development of my country's flexible packaging industry has promoted the development of food, medicine and other product packaging industries, and people's awareness of environmental protection is also increasing. Reducing solvent residues in the packaging industry is an important concern. At present, my country's environmentally friendly inks include:

  1. Water-based ink mainly uses water as a solvent, with extremely low VOC content and little environmental pollution. The advantages of water-based inks are 1. Water-based inks have environmental and safety advantages. 2. Water-based ink has high stability and low flammability.

  2. UV ink refers to the ink that uses ultraviolet light of different wavelengths and energies to make the ink film and dry under ultraviolet irradiation. The advantages are reflected in: 1. It does not contain VOCs and is harmless to the environment. 2. The curing time is short, which can make the ink dry quickly. 3. The ink layer of UV ink is wear-resistant and chemical-resistant.

  3. Water-based UV ink uses water as diluent and adopts UV radiation curing technology. The advantages are: no active diluent is needed to adjust the viscosity, the VOC content is extremely low, the viscosity and rheology are controllable, the coating is thin, and the equipment and containers are easy to clean.

  4. Soybean ink is made by mixing edible soybean oil with pigments, resins, waxes and other substances. This ink does not contain organic compounds that pollute the atmosphere, is odorless, non-toxic, and is used in countries such as Europe and the United States.

  5. Alcohol-soluble ink mainly uses ethanol as the main solvent, which is non-toxic, safe and environmentally friendly, and can be used in daily-use packaging and printing fields such as food, medicine, tobacco and wine.

More than the above types, many new environmentally friendly inks have been recognized. The focus of environmentally friendly inks is to find technologies that can replace harmful substances in traditional inks without affecting printing quality. Generally speaking, environmentally friendly inks are developing in the direction of water-based inks and UV-curable inks. In the future, the establishment of relevant standards for environmentally friendly inks will be accelerated. It is believed that Chinese inks will usher in green development.
