According to reports on Birla Carbon Company's website, the company's factories in Hickok, USA, and Yeosu, South Korea, have been awarded the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS) with no non-conformities. This signifies the company's commitment to sustainable development and the circular economy. Previously, the company's Italian factory was awarded the ISCC PLUS certification in May 2023, becoming the first factory to receive this certification, demonstrating the company's determination to provide advanced products.

John Loudermilk, President and CEO of Birla Carbon, stated, "We are proud to announce that our factories in Hickok, USA, and Yeosu, South Korea, have been awarded the ISCC PLUS certification, marking another milestone in our journey towards sustainable development. These achievements underscore Birla Carbon's firm commitment to environmental responsibility. As we continue to expand our certification efforts globally, we will strengthen our commitment to sustainable and traceable practices."

The company is actively pursuing ISCC PLUS certification for several other factories worldwide. Currently, certification processes are underway for two facilities in Brazil and three facilities in India, Spain, Egypt, and Hungary, with plans for completion within the 2024 fiscal year. Birla Carbon remains dedicated to implementing sustainable development practices, and this certification reinforces its commitment to responsible operations. ISCC PLUS certification is a voluntary program applicable to various industries in the bioeconomy and circular economy sectors. This certification system serves as a reliable indicator for stakeholders to identify the qualifications of enterprises providing sustainable and recyclable materials.
