According to the latest report of the authoritative industry journal European Rubber Journal, Philips Carbon Black (PCBL), India's leading carbon black producer, is accelerating its global expansion and its annual production capacity is approaching the million-ton mark. Sovan Roy, the company's technical service and business development (rubber) manager, revealed in a recent interview that PCBL is actively improving its position in the global market, especially in Europe, and is expected to become a leader in the industry.
Mr. Roy pointed out that as one of the "fastest growing" suppliers in the carbon black industry, PCBL aims to climb from its current seventh place in the world to sixth place or higher in the next few years. To achieve this goal, PCBL successfully put into operation a new carbon black project with an annual production capacity of 147,000 tons in Chennai, Tamil Nadu this year, bringing the company's total annual production capacity to 770,000 tons, and plans to break the million-ton mark in the next few years.
In addition, PCBL has several ongoing and expansion projects that are progressing steadily, including a new 20,000-ton annual production line in Mundra, Gujarat, which is about to be put into operation, and a 90,000-ton expansion plan for the Tamil Nadu plant next year. The implementation of these projects will further consolidate PCBL's position in the global carbon black market.
In terms of global layout, PCBL has established a research and development center and regional offices in Belgium, and has established a wide network of sales channel partners in European countries. Mr. Roy said that these measures will not only help improve the company's research and development capabilities and market response speed, but will also provide strong support for PCBL's in-depth expansion in the European market.
Regarding the export market, Mr. Roy revealed that PCBL's carbon black products are currently mainly exported to Southeast Asia and Europe. He particularly pointed out that after the EU banned the import of Russian carbon black, the European market may face supply adjustments, but PCBL is confident that it can fill this gap by increasing the supply to Europe. At the same time, he also said that he will closely monitor the dynamic changes in the Southeast Asian and Chinese markets to formulate a more flexible export strategy.
PCBL Manager: European carbon black market supply is stable, we will increase support
Souwan Roy, Technical Service and Business Development (Rubber) Manager of Philips Carbon Black (PCBL), expressed optimism when talking about the impact of the EU's ban on imports of Russian carbon black on the European market. He said that although this policy may lead to changes in procurement channels, there will be no shortage in the European market.
Mr. Roy explained that with the withdrawal of Russian carbon black from the European market, suppliers in other regions such as India and China will have the opportunity to fill this gap. He particularly pointed out that PCBL, as one of the largest carbon black producers in India, is fully prepared to cope with this market change.
He further stated that PCBL has R&D centers and regional offices in Europe and has an extensive network of sales channel partners. These advantages will enable PCBL to adjust its production and export strategies more flexibly to meet the needs of the European market.
Regarding future development plans in the European market, Mr. Roy revealed that PCBL will continue to increase its investment and support in the European market. He emphasized: "The European market is one of our strategic goals. We will continue to improve our competitiveness and influence in the European market by improving product quality, optimizing production processes, and strengthening market promotion."
Finally, Mr. Roy concluded: "PCBL is growing stronger. We are confident that we can provide global customers with better products and services through continuous efforts and innovation. At the same time, we also look forward to working hand in hand with partners in the European market to jointly promote the prosperity and development of the carbon black industry."
