The chemical molecular formula of white carbon black is SiO2nH2O, and it is named white carbon black because of its similar use to carbon black. According to the production process, it can be divided into precipitated silica and fumed silica. The white carbon black produced by the precipitation method is obtained by adding sodium silicate and sulfuric acid, and is used as a reinforcing filler in rubber, plastic and other products.
The use of precipitated silica:
The biggest role is as a reinforcing agent in rubber products. In addition, it is also used in medicine, pesticides, inks, paints, coatings, food, feed, cosmetics and other products.
1. Tire industry: Adding high-dispersion precipitated silica and coupling agent to the tire tread can improve the life and safety of the tire and reduce rolling resistance. Precipitated silica is used in tire carcass and belt layer to improve the adhesion between the rubber compound and the steel cord.
2. In rubber shoes: Silica has high whiteness and fine particle size. The vulcanized rubber made of silica has high transparency, which can improve the physical properties of the rubber, especially in transparent and translucent shoe sole rubber.
3. In other rubber products: adding it to the tape can improve its wear resistance. It is also suitable for rubber parts such as rubber hoses, wires and cables.
4. Pharmaceutical industry: Silica is used due to its advantages of high absorption, high dispersion and thickening properties.
5. Pesticide industry: It is mainly used as a carrier, which can improve fluidity and prevent caking.
6. Ink: It mainly plays the role of thickening, which can control the flow in the printing process, prevent flow and sagging, and print cleaning.
White carbon black is widely used in light industry, food, medicine, construction, machinery and other fields.
